‘Why “Compassionate Capitalism” is kind of a scam’ basically sums up why I have doubts about strong pressure on companies to make work of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). I instead agree with Friedman that companies’ only responsibility is be as profitable as possible while adhering to the law. Everything social is to be decided by society, and not arbitrarily by companies. Just see the backlash Paulson’s gift got. CSR is the exponent of that.
